One of my friends and fellow trip leaders on the Noli…is teaching a Wilderness First Aid class at the end of October. The usual cost for this course is $100+ and often you have to drive to Asheville, etc… to take it.  It’s a great course in general but a must for trip leaders, counselors, and outdoor leadership positions.

His course is a mere $65 and will take place Saturday and Sunday at the end of the month at Rock Springs Park on the way to the put in of the Noli.  That includes camping.

One good thing about Brent’s course is it is paddling conducive – utilizing cam straps, PFD’s, throw bags, etc… for high elevation and climbing evacs you might see in the Gorge.

Side note – he’s entertaining, the class is a lot of fun (you don’t feel like you’re in a class, low pressure, etc…) and it’s close to home. You’ll not only learn a new skill or two, while earning your certs., but you’ll have a lot of fun.

The link says $125 – but he’s offering a discounted price of $65 – includes camping.

Happy paddlin’…. take advantage of the opportunity…and enjoy a fun course in the beautiful leaves of the Unaka Mtn. Wilderness.
