Before the premieres we had a nice meet and greet in the lobby with all viewers buying tasty concessions and talking with Nick Troutman and Emily Jackson. We were also showcasing the new J.A.W. Super Hero and Hero. Which lots of people were excited about! We started the night out promptly at 7:30 p.m. showing Josh Daltonandrsquo;s Devilandrsquo;s Face Productions of the Little River, Nantahala Cascades, and Tellico. He received a thunderous applause for his work after his film ended. Nick Troutman then got up and explained his purpose and motivation for the andldquo; Here andamp; Nowandrdquo; film. Then, of course, we showed the film. After the movie Nick received a grand applause and we called it a night, so everybody could get home at a descent hour.
There was a total of about 50-60 people who showed up to view the film. There were many local paddlers who showed up to support the event and surprising notable others that I was very glad to see, Leland andamp; Andria Davis. What was really amazing to me was that some people, who were not even paddlers, came out to see what the event was all about. Some of those people got so pumped up from the films that they want to learn to paddle now! I never thought that a kayaking film was an outreach tool to grow our sport until nowandhellip; Super Cool!
If you didnandrsquo;t get to make it to the premiere and canandrsquo;t wait for a premiere in your area; the andldquo; Here andamp; Nowandrdquo; film is available for purchase at the JK web site:
