Hydropower Reform Coalition has launched a new interactive dam effects website.

American Whitewater is pleased to announce a fun new interactive website focused on the impacts dams have on rivers, as well as river restoration opportunities. HRC steering committee members have spent several months developing the content of the website and we are thrilled with the outcome. The website allows visitors to explore the ecological and social values of a natural river, a river with a poorly managed hydro dam, a river with a well managed hydro dam, and a river on which a dam has been removed.

AW and our partners at HRC work to minimize the impacts that dams have on rivers. Paddlers are likely familiar with many of our projects and the basic elements of regulated (ie dammed) river restoration. AW bet though, that this website will offer paddlers some new scientific information that they will find interesting. AW hope that this website can help make paddlers and other river enthusiasts even better river advocates!

Take a tour, and share this website with your friends and families!
