About Leavenworth

Welcome to the Leavenworth Region!

Leavenworth is a gem nestled into the heart of the Washington Cascades. While the Bavarian theme of the town is the main attraction for most visitors, the whitewater paddling is world class and provides rivers for paddlers of all abilities. Within a 20 mile radius of Leavenworth, paddlers can find scenic floats, foamy play waves, steep creeking, and big water class V. Not to mention, Leavenworth is a mecca for other outdoor adventure sports such as rock climbing, mountain biking, snorkeling, backpacking, and don’t forget the nordic, downhill, and backcountry snow sports in the winter.

The majority of our water comes from snow melt in the spring which really fires up all of our drainages between April and July. It is common that the fall rains bring the flows back before the snow starts to fall. Regardless, there is always something running and as long as you don’t mind brushing the icicles off your helmet, you can paddle all year long in Leavenworth.
