I would like to invite the World Kayak Community to watch my latest video production entitled HOW TO GO SURF KAYAKING. This film was released on a DVD by Rapid Transit in December 2011 as part of a collection entitled COMING HOME, produced by myself and Chris Gallaway. The title, How to go Surf Kayaking, has both literal and figurative intent, but I didn’t set out to produce an instructional video. Rather, I was making a video scrapbook documenting 14 years of kayak surfing adventures, and the lessons that taught my friends and I “How to go Surf Kayaking.” Every paddler has their own time, place and favorite thing to do in their boat, but the things we all seem to share are the value of camaraderie, a sense of adventure, and an appreciation of the creeks, rivers, lakes and oceans we enjoy. I would like to think that this is the spirit captured in HOW TO GO SURF KAYAKING, and that all paddlers relate to the story in some way. I appreciate your time and thank you for the opportunity to bring kayak films to you for the past 12 years; from Buck Fever, to LVM, to Enter The Donkey and now Rapid Transit Video. Without the support of the paddling community none of these projects would have happened.

A portion of proceeds from the sales of this DVD will benefit two separate non-profit organizations:
– Our VOICE, a crisis intervention and prevention agency which serves victims of sexual assault, based in Asheville, NC.
– RiverLink, an organization which spearheads the economic and environmental revitalization of the French Broad River and its tributaries as a place to live, work and play.
