The crew floats through the Weminuche

For the first year in a few now Durango has been receiving its ‘normal’ dose of fall rains.  Needless to say, the local paddling scene has been exciting the last several days.  Personally I have been able to catch the Piedra at super high flows, the upper Animas in the fall (beautiful), as well as an overdose of play boating (if there is such thing).  It is crazy that just a couple of months back we were at a 10 year low on the Animas, and in severe drought.  Hopefully these fall rains are a trend that will continue to provide for the whitewater kayakers of the South West.
