This came out from Brian D., the Access Chair for Spokane Canoe and Kayak Club.
The take out at Division Street (under/slightly on the downstream side of the bridge) is the last chance take out before entering the no water craft area of downtown (due to the Avista Dams and the Falls). Currently it is a well used primitive take out for flat water paddlers. This take out has great potential to be an iconic and scenic takeout for Downtown Spokane, yet the current conceptional plans for the new Convention Center only show a spot on the map where paddlers can get out of the river under the bridge, with no parking near the takeout, and lacking a trail to carry your boats out. If you wish to help preserve and improve this take out please check out the attached flyer and attend the public comment meeting on April 18th.
