Adding the Fun-factor to your paddling community

The World Kayak Events program has one goal: "Bring the fun of paddling within your community front and center!"ᅠ This initiative will bring a continual line of events and event support to paddling regions across the globe.ᅠ Events will be developed and delivered through our ambassador network and into a growing number of regions.ᅠ

Our programs will include:

World Kayak Hometown Throwdowns

- 10 regions in North America,
- 5 events in each region
- 56 events total across the US and Canada in 2008,
- Expanding globally in 2009

The World Kayak Initiative's principal goal is to bring excitement back into our paddling communities. In accomplishing this goal, it will be important to bring back the fun, simple paddling events... the throwdown is just one such event.

US Team Trials LIVE

World Kayak, H20 Dreams and Elevation Lifestyle Network combine to bring you all the action at the 2009 US Team Trials from Glenwood Springs. WK will be covering the prelims and ELN will be covering the semi's and finals for $4.95 each day. Support the team, their sponsors and all the hard work done by Chris at H20 Dreams and ELN as they worked hard at their own cost to bring this to you. 2009 WK Hometown Throwdowns announced

In 2008 the WK Hometown Throwdown made it's first appearance on the whitewater community stage. We had started with 15 events announced. Once the word got out, we delivered 65 events across N. American! This year we have a confirmed 100 events! Moving towards our goal of 120!

    Getting to know Trevor Clark

    Jun 12 09 - Over the course of my life as a kayaker there have been a few notable photographers that have provided the imagery for our sport. Jock Bradley and Paul Villecourt are the two that stand out in my mind. Last year at the Reno River Festival I was introduced to Trevor Clark. He was kind enough to shoot one of our World Kayak hometown throwdowns. Needles to say I was impressed with the images he captured. Over the course of last season the quality of the images that Trevor continued to generate did not disappoint. Not only is Trevor an extremely accomplished photographer but he is an extremely good boater as well.
